I  started my business in 1994, and I went on the internet with my web page www.marcyann.com in 1997.   I have married over 1,500 (2006) couples in almost every location in Orange County.  I've married couples from 40 of the United States and 17 foreign countries who come to California to get married. I am the Originator of the Sand Ceremony and the Family-Blending-of-the-Sands Ceremony.   I do lots of beach weddings, and early on, brides would ask if they could have a Unity Candle.    The candle would never stay lighted!   So one day, I woke up very early one morning with the idea of using the sand at the beach.  And I got a pretty little container and scooped up the sand from under the feet of the bride and groom and put it in the container as a symbol of the blending together of their two souls.  Later on, I got the idea for the family-blending-of-the-sands ceremony as I do a lot of 2^nd & 3^rd marriages, and there are children involved.  I felt that the children needed to have some kind of assurance that they would still be important in the lives of their respective parent even if that parent got married to someone else.  So we blend the sands of everyone. Several years ago, I worked with Pietown Productions in Los Angeles, producers of The Baby Story that received an Emmy nomination.  They filmed seven of my weddings which were shown on  television on the nationally-syndicated TV program, LIFE MOMENTS.  On one of these televised weddings, we did the family blending-of-the-sands ceremony. Then CBS did it on one of their $6million dollar weddings (Ryan & Tristen), and from that moment on, my idea has become a national and now world-wide phenomenon!  I would be so happy to include my Sand Ceremony or the Family-Blending-Of-The-Sands Ceremony at your Wedding.  More recently, we were featured on Entertainment Tonight and Sept. 2006 on Bridezilla on the Women's Entertainment Network. 

Prior to 1994, I worked as a Professional Ghostwriter for 25 years.  For seven years, I worked for a national broadcasting company, LeSea Broadcasting Company, and for three and one-half years, I worked for a national greeting card company Blue Mountain Arts Greeting Cards.  The Blue Mountain Arts greeting cards were the very first greeting cards to say “I Love You,” or “I Miss You,” or “I’m Sorry.”  These greeting cards are the most personal and beautiful expressions of feelings of any cards you can buy.  After being immersed in this atmosphere for 3 ½ years and also observing the wonderful marriage relationship of the creators of the cards, Susan and Stephen Schutz, I wrote out a wedding ceremony that I believe expresses the love and the personal intent of most couples who wish to be married.

All of the Professional Wedding Officiants who work for me use my ceremony as a framework for your wedding.  There are some options to choose and several different ways to make the ceremony very personal to your situation and your desires and beliefs.  I will be your co-ordinator and help you with the details of booking your wedding and choosing a location.  Then either myself or one of my staff will come on the wedding day and conduct the ceremony.
